Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a successful numb thumbs this year.
We had 20 people at the field and while George did try and become the first casualty for 2026, he was able to get his plane down.
Just gave me a reminder that if I haven’t flown a model in awhile, I might want to check my connections
There is a good video on our Facebook page thanks to William Jones (or Jones William?). If your out at the field you may be
filmed for our page, so if your running from the law have a good disguise.
Ill be getting with Kevin to try and work out who still needs to pay dues, so if you know you have not paid, get with Kevin with a check, Remember dues was voted uo to $75 for the year now.

If I remember correctly…and at my age that’s asking a lot..George said he bring coffee and doughnuts, H will make some Chilli and I’ll bring chips. Bill volunteered some cookies and cakes.
I think George has plates and utensils.
Yesterday o thought it be shirt sleeve weather..but the worm turned and looks like we’ll need coats and gloves for the 1st See you at noon!!!

Hello all,
Next week we will have a club meeting, location and time TBD. We will meet to do two things:
- Discuss January 1st Numb Thumbs event
- Execute Office Elections for 2026.
Please be aware that George Watts and Bill Rademacher will not be continuing as Officers into 2026.
This means you will at least need to elect a NEW President, Vice President, and a Secretary for 2026.

Greetings Sports fans,
we just completed the switch to daylight savings time. You all know what that means. The great shaved Yak (Ren and Stimpy cartoon ref.) will visit boys and girls who fly radio control models and give them a Heathkit 72mhrz radio to assemble them selves.
But also, it is time to start flying in the local gymnasium. A gymnasium is where children learn the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat –Â in school.
Here are directions to the gym. We can begin flying there tomorrow evening. I will send out another message with details.
Charge those batteries, transmitters and blow the dust off those airp0lanes.

Hi all,
NIGHT FLY
our Saturday Night Fly is still a go. Although the weather may not cooperate, we will wait and see what weather develops Saturday night.
We will make the decision to postpone if necessary at that time.
CLUB ELECTIONS
We will hold club elections in December – January time frame.
NOTE: I will not be continuing as Vice President / Secretary in 2026. I will not run for any positions for 2026.
Someone else needs to run and get elected for these two positions. It will not be me.
Why: I am reducing my responsibilities across the board, not just with the flying club.
I will continue to maintain the website for a period, but eventually that will need to change ownership as well.
2026 DUES
DUES in 2026 will be $75.00 per year. You must pay with a check, not cash. We expect payment in January.
Checks allow us to keep accurate records. If you do not have a bank account, please go to the post office and get a money order.
See you Saturday

just a reminder that our yearly Night Fly is this Saturday evening. It is one of the two darkest nights in October.
Let’s get those lights working. Darkness will arrive at sunset, approximately 7:00Â ` 7:30 PM. More to follow.
You can arrive around 4 or 5 if you want to get daylight flying time in. This is a bring your own, with a few various club items furnished, like maybe coffee etc.
Dress warmly, it will be a cool evening.

3mm carbon spar in the wing (or a wire etc.)
motor etc https://graysonhobby.com/supersonic-2212-06-v2-30amp-esc-brushless-combo-basic.html
use a 3 cell 1200-1500 or even a 3 cell 2200.just check the balance.
If you need a full size plan printed, Elizabethtown electric on 31W had a huge printer and would print it for almost nothing. Email or use a flash drive to get it to them. No one else has a large enough printer.

Hey folks this is a public service announcement.
In light of the high heat that’s baking our great state these days, let’s be aware of what heat can do to our bodies in just a short amount of time when it’s in the 90s.
I highly suggest that you do not fly alone at the field. If something happens you’ll be out of luck as there will be no one else there to call 911 or to revive you or…
It’s important to drink water but you really need to replace your electrolytes. Take something out there besides water. Gatorade or body armor are two excellent drinks for electrolyte replacement.
When I was in the service I saw several people just drop where they were standing passing out from dehydration. You won’t know it until it happens and you’re waking up. Not good.
Let’s fly and stay safe out there.
Thanks
Bill

A word about club events,
I am going to remove all our planned events from the calendar. Why?
1. We only have a handful of active members, although we have about 24 on the books.
2. The events take planning and resources. We are a little short on both.
so…I recommend we just do a few adhoc pot lucks and call it good.
No one is to blame, we all have lives to live. The whole hobby is shrinking.
If someone wants to schedule, plan and lead an event, please go ahead and step up. Glad to help.

All this is an important announcement.
Effective immediately if you go out to the flying Field when you go into the gate you must lock the gate behind you. Do not use the carabiner that’s on the lock to close the chain.
You must lock the lock back on the chain behind you as you go into fly. This is mandated by the county authority.
Thanks

Changes to the website:
A new menu item is Event list, and under that is the Calendar.
Now you can see an easy to read Event List instead of going month by month in the Calendar.

Items on the top of our agenda are Officer Elections and pay raises. We will be discussing a lot of items as this is the first meeting of the year.

Hi all,
so for the uninitiated, in Kentucky, the winter time (now) is the time of building, trading and stealing new model airplanes for your personal enjoyment in the eventual arrival of warm weather. John Suarez is way way ahead of all of us, so lets get cracking. Don’t let John make us (more importantly me) look bad.
We will NOT I say KNOT have a meeting Monday. I will be sending a n email with the new dater as soon as we determine that date. Scheduling is tricky this part of the year. OK, its tricky pretty much all year long. But anyway, KNOW MEATING MUNDAY.
are we good?

Well well well, we had a great afternoon flying. Most members paid up their dues. Special thanks to H for the chili and chicken noodle soup, and all who provided the good eats. One call out to Joe M, the luckiest man on the planet. Walk up, buy a ticket, win a raffle. Mic drop!
A few admin notes: Officer elections will be in late January. We will have a club meeting on Monday, January 13th at a location to be announced soon. There will be an Officer’s meeting at Bill R’s home on January 9th at 7 pm.
Message board: I will delete all email addresses on the message board and reload only those members who have paid their dues on Friday the 3rd of January. If you have questions or issues, email officers at info@hcrcm.org and we will respond. Note: anyone can read the message board, but only members will be able to post. More to follow.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that 2025 will be the year of achievement, satisfaction, and justified gloating.
See you at the field

Bill R.:
Greetings mighty HCRCM RC pilots.
By now everyone has collected up their dues to pay on January 1st. What brave, strong and caring men you all are!
As we do every year, we will gather at the airfield to do our New Year’s Day flying. If you forget your dues, we will flog you. Those are the rules.
We will have typical food furnished by H. Morgan, which usually consists of chicken and noodles, in a pot and chili, also in a pot. He has a thing about pots. It’s worth it coming to the January 1st fly-in just to eat this food. Seriously. If you want to bring your own delicacy, desserts, drinks, by all means we encourage that. We will have coffee thanks to George Watts. And oxygen thanks to the forest we lose planes in.
Activities will begin at noon. If you want to get there earlier, that’s fine, but we may not have things heated up and sealed up prior to noon. That’s all up to you.
Now a couple admin notes about the club and the new year. I know you all can’t wait. Neither can I.
Officer elections will take place in mid to late January. Soon we will be setting a date when we will meet in a restaurant in Radcliffe or Elizabethtown to put together a quorum and vote on new candidates for club leadership. Criteria required in order to hold an officer’s position is: You must be alive. You must be able to fly model airplanes. You must be able to walk and scream at people. That is pretty much it. And yes, you can be a convicted felon and be president.
The website and the message board: I know lately we’ve had two or three erroneous messages posted to the message board. Spam. We hate spam. I hate spam. You hate spam. Our ancient ancestors hated spam. Only I think they were talking about the food kind. To address this, in January we will make the message board password protected. You will all get a password in order to post messages. Viewing will still be open. We had to do this a long time ago, and it looks like we’ll have to do it again for a while. The party’s over, I guess.
Also, we will be removing email addresses from the message board of folks who have long since quit flying or lost interest in our club. Some of the email addresses on there are from the Napoleonic Wars. And it’s time to clean them out.
If you have not paid your 2025 dues yet, like me, you can bring them January 1st. What a perfect opportunity to pay for the entire year and get off our NAG list. Although, you know, we really like to NAG. Be a man (or whatever your preference) and pay your club dues. Dues are $60.00
Thank you and I hope to see you on January 1st!
