HARDIN COUNTY RADIO CONTROL MODELERS

BY-LAWS

These by-laws shall govern the normal operation of the club in accordance with the constitution.

1. NAME:
The club shall be known as the HARDIN COUNTY RADIO CONTROL MODELERS.

2. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this club is to promote the building and operation of radio control model Aircraft and to promote public acceptance and good will toward this sport/hobby.

3. MEMBERSHIP:
A. Membership shall be open to all qualified AMA members regardless of race, color, creed, age or sex. Membership shall be from January 1st through December 3lst. New members joining after 1 July will pay half-a-year dues plus a field fee.

B. Prospective members shall show their interest to join by visiting the field and by attending a meeting. They shall pay a field fee in addition to the first year Membership fee. This shall afford the member the right to use of the club field and attend any of the functions that are associated with the operation of this club.

C. A member may be removed from the club by a majority vote of the members present at a regular meeting upon the recommendation of the Club Board of Elected Officers.

D. A member shall hold harmless of any claim any and all members, Board of Elected Officers and the club or Hardin County Kentucky for any action arising out of the conducting of club business, activities, or social events. This shall include any accidents caused by the operation of the flying of model aircraft.

4. OFFICERS:

A. President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Safety Officer shall be nominated and elected at the first meeting in December and shall serve from the Following January through December.

B. These officers shall be considered to be the governing body of the club.

C. Vacancies shall be filled by a special election vote of the majority of the club members Present at the next meeting after a position is vacated.

D. An officer may be removed from office by a majority vote of the membership present at a regular meeting.

5. DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS:

A. The President shall be responsible for the organization of the club meetings and shall preside over club meetings. He shall be the spokesman for the club and with the assistance of those that he may choose will organize any club social activities. The president shall appoint committee heads, liaison officers, public relations officers or others as deemed necessary with the approval of the club Elected Officers.

B. The Vice President shall be responsible for the organization of and be in charge of any contest program, open or invitational contest, or field activity the club has voted to have. He should formulate the general contest schedule but is subject to abide by the vote of the club on the plans submitted. He shall substitute in the absence of the president.

C. The Secretary shall be responsible for all club correspondence and outside correspondence. He shall record minutes of each meeting and report to the membership the minutes of the previous meeting. He will also publish a club news letter as deemed necessary by the membership being reimbursed for his/her expenses out of club funds after having shown proof of the cost of publishing such a letter and sending it to the membership.

D. The Treasurer shall be the principal financial officer of the club and should render an accurate account of the financial condition of the club at the monthly meetings of the membership. He shall oversee all club dues collected, assessments and owed to the club and deposit same to the bank account in the club name. He shall issue out and control the membership cards. He shall discharge all financial obligations of the club as approved by the Board of Elected Officers or membership of the club.

E. The Safety Officer shall have the responsibility of maintaining a safe flying atmosphere at our flying field. He shall report at the meetings as needed on how the membership is adhering to the adopted safety rules and regulations. The safety officer has the responsibility and the right to request any individual using profanity, threats, obscene gestures, etc.. or demonstrating belligerent or otherwise undesirable behavior of the safety code adopted by the club, any such request should be reported to the board of elected officials at the next club meeting. The safety officer shall be treated with respect and shall have the right to eject pilots. All other officers of the club shall be considered deputy safety officers.

6. MEETINGS

The ANNUAL meeting of the club membership shall be held in the month of January each year on the day to coincide with the regular monthly meeting. The club officials elected at the December regular monthly meeting are automatically installed and will conduct this meeting. The REGULAR monthly meetings shall be held at a time and place as determined by the elected officials. Regular meetings may be omitted as determined by the board of elected officials provided not more than two months pass without holding a regular meeting. SPECIAL meetings of the membership shall be called by the board of elected officials. A QUORUM IS DEFINED AS TEN PERCENT (10%) OF THE MEMBERSHIP ENTITLED TO VOTE PLUS 2 ELECTED OFFICERS AT ANY MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP.

7. DUES:

A. The amount of dues shall be set by a quorum at the ANNUAL meeting in January of each year.

B. Special assessments, if needed are payable when assessed, and any such assessment will need to be posted and approved by a quorum.

C. Any member more than thirty days delinquent in paying his or her dues shall be removed from the membership.

D. Family members still living at home, or family members who are full time students shall be covered by one family member’s dues.

8. VOTING:

A. All members in good standing are entitled to one vote per motion.

B. Unless otherwise stipulated, a simple majority vote will determine the issue.

C. Robert’s Rules of Order shall prevail.

9. AMENDMENTS:

These by-laws may be amended by the membership through normal voting procedures in two consecutive meetings.

Field & General Safety Rules

1. The official AMA rules are applicable to ALL Flying field activities.

2. All pilots will be current members of the AMA.

3. The flyer’s AMA and Club card will be hung on the Frequency Control Board on the corresponding number of your channel prior to turning on your transmitter and removed immediately after your flight or work is concluded. Be respectful of others waiting for the channel to become available.

4. The club safety officer’s has/have the authority to give a person a warning for not following AMA or Club safety codes. Repeated offenses will become club business. SEE IMPORTANT NOTICE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.

5 FLYING IS NOT PERMITTED WHILE GRASS CUTTING IS OCCURRING. NO EXCEPTIONS!

6. The drinking of alcohol or the use of any controlled substance during time spent at the field is prohibited.

7. Non-members may fly as a guest no more than three times a month and are subject to all AMA and club safety codes and rules. The only exceptions are scheduled open events.
